Finally onto the sandwich ! It was pretty straightforward once I had all the ingredients. Perhaps the only difficult part was grilling the sandwich. I especially bought a cast-iron grill to use on my stove.
It didn’t come out magazine-cover perfect but what does ?
How is it ?
I admit that I was all prepared to write a critical review here – but it was absolutely fabulous. The onions and the corned-beef, with the fontina cheese was a great combination. The meat was fruit and almost mystical with the rye. Absolutely delicious.
Now is it worth the trouble ? I would still say probably not – perhaps too much work all things considered. Now if you could find a great deli where you could buy home-made style corned beef like this ( or close to it) – I think it changes, and it’s definitely worth doing again.
Well we’re finally done with the corned-beef here. I admit it was a long and serial set of posts. I’ve been pretty busy with work the past few weeks, I made the sandwich 2 weeks ago but am only now getting a chance to do this post. Anyway the good news is – I finally got the April issue. I’ll save my next post to start blogging about it.

A coal pot would go well with that grill. Great looking sanwich.
